""Selective disclosure""

Abstract : This project deals with the common situation in which a persuader observes multiple pieces of information (grades, ratings, test results..) and can select which ones to disclose. If the decision-maker does not (fully) take into account that disclosure by the persuader may be selective, the persuader will indeed engage in such behavior, effectively biasing the decision-maker’s beliefs. Two interventions that limit the amount of available information, namely a restriction on the pieces of information that the persuader observes and a restriction on the pieces of information that the persuader can disclose, may then enhance information transmission. After a minimal presentation of the underlying theory, the talk will focus on presenting the design of an experiment aimed at testing these predictions.
